Codestar™ Family

Codestar™ family of products augments the time division standards like GSM/GPRS and EDGE by adding support for code division cellular communication standards such as W-CDMA. All Codestar™ products feature Tropian's patented Polar Impact™ technology.

Major technical additions required by the code division signals are:

• Wider signal bandwidth (10x)
• Full-duplex operation (simultaneous operation of transmitter and receiver)
• Increased transmit power control range of 80dB for WCDMA, compared to 30dB for E-GPRS

The main Codestar product developments focus on using a common RF path for all modulation types (GMSK, 8PSK, HQPSK) and creatively realizing the greatly expanded power control range required for W-CDMA terminals.
